The Bern Snowboard Helmet and Multi-Sport Certification- Is It Worth the Hype?

man wearing bern helmet

Snowboarding is my first passion, and, up-on till recently, I always had to have a full set of safety and other equipment designed for the specific sport I plan to do. For those not well versed in it, I find and rent equipment until I get a taste of the sport and decide to invest in it.

I recently heard of the Bern snowboard helmet, which can be used for skiing, biking, and skateboarding. Is it safe to use a ski helmet for biking or skateboarding?

I do not believe in using a snowboard helmet for biking, but Bern might prove me wrong.

As someone who loves adventure and trying new things, I was intrigued by the Bern snowboard helmet. Since I’d already invested in a ski helmet, I thought it might be worth trying this multi-sport helmet. After all, it had earned multiple certifications for use in various sports – something that no other helmet company had done.

I decided to research and see what the fuss was about.

The Bern Snowboard Helmet: Blending Style and Functionality

The Bern Snowboard Helmet is a stylish and comfortable helmet for multiple sports. It features an adjustable crank fit system, allowing you to customize the helmet’s fit. It has a multi-sport liner that will enable you to use it for skiing, skateboarding, and biking. The helmet also features a protective brim to shade your eyes from the sun while riding or skiing.

It’s also worth noting that Bern is a family-owned company that takes its safety certifications seriously. Their helmets have been certified for football, lacrosse, ski/snowboard, bike/skateboard, heli-skiing, and other activities by American and European standards.

The Bern Snowboard Helmet: Testing It Out

I decided to take the plunge and purchase my own Bern Snowboard Helmet. I was both excited and slightly apprehensive – it was a significant investment. But I wanted to try out the helmet’s features and see if I could use it for multiple sports.

First, I tried out the helmet in its intended sport – snowboarding. I used a well-fitted liner and adjusted the crank to ensure the fit was snug yet comfortable. The brim provided adequate protection from the sun while I was carving down slopes. The helmet felt snug and secure, and I felt confident skiing with it on.

Next, I decided to try out the helmet for biking. I swapped out the winter liner and replaced it with a more breathable summer one. I also put on a protective brim to shade my eyes from the sun. The helmet felt secure and comfortable while biking, and I could tell that the Bern Snowboard Helmet was designed for safety and comfort.

I tried out the helmet for skateboarding in local parks. I swapped out the liners for a breathable summer helmet. The helmet fit securely and was comfortable to wear. I felt confident while skateboarding, knowing my Bern helmet had earned multiple certifications and was designed for style and safety.

Multi-Sport Certification

Having a comfortable multisport helmet is essential when engaging in any sport. A good helmet should fit comfortably and allow a natural range of motion while providing maximum protection from head injuries. It should also be lightweight and have proper ventilation to keep the wearer cool. The helmet should also have straps that can be easily adjusted to fit different head sizes and shapes and chin straps for an extra secure fit.

I’m a snowboarder first, so I understand the importance of having a helmet that provides dependable protection and looks good. Bern snowboard helmets have hit the mark on both fronts. The sleek skate-style design and the inclusion of a brim make them stand out in terms of style. But beyond aesthetics, something else sets Bern apart: their commitment to multi-sport certification.

Unlike many snowboard helmets, certified only for skiing, Bern helmets have been designed to meet the highest safety standards in various sports.

Helmet Technology and Features

When it comes to safety, Bern has thought of everything. Their helmets are designed with multiple layers of protection that can absorb the impact of impacts from all angles. The EPS foam liner is designed to manage the low-level effects, while the ABS hard shell provides extra protection for more severe accidents. Bern also offers an adjustable crank fit system to ensure that your helmet fits snugly and securely.

I was also impressed by the other features of the helmet. The removable winter liner is designed to keep you warm and comfortable on those cold mountain days, while the breathable summer liner helps keep you cool when it’s hot out. It also has a visor that can be adjusted easily for optimal sun protection.

The helmet also features an adjustable chin strap that helps provide a secure and comfortable fit and a goggle clip that securely holds your goggles in place.

Is the Bern Snowboard Helmet Worth It?

The Bern Snowboard Helmet is worth considering if you’re looking for a high-quality, multi-sport helmet. It has earned multiple certifications for use in various sports and is designed to be both comfortable and stylish. Additionally, the adjustable crank fit system makes it easy to customize the fit of the helmet for your particular sport.

Whether you’re looking for a ski helmet, skateboard helmet, or bike helmet, I highly recommend checking it out.
